Since July 2024, R.A.M. has been a partner in the innovation project KISS. Together with RIGK, plastship and Veridis Technologies, we are bringing artificial intelligence into plastics recycling — for more efficient, more sustainable material cycles.
KISS stands for “AI-based qualification, control and optimisation of material flows to close regional resource cycles”. The goal is to use an AI-supported platform to analyse and classify used plastics from industry, commerce and agriculture and route them to the best recycling paths — increasing material quality and reducing the CO₂ footprint along the value chain.
We examine contamination such as specks and inclusions in the plastics in detail.
Taking relevant production parameters into account, we minimise scrap and increase the efficiency of recycling processes.
Our measurement data feeds into a central database that serves as the basis for the AI’s precise classification.
Initiator & project leadCarries out comprehensive laboratory testing and quality assessment of the recyclates.
R.A.M. GmbHAnalyses contamination such as specks and inclusions and optimises recycling processes via production parameters.
AI platform & databaseDevelops the AI platform and the central database that classifies material qualities and identifies recovery routes.
Material dataProvides precise data on material composition and supports the AI-based classification.
The three-year project is funded by the Hessian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing as part of the “Ressourcenwende Hessen” initiative and supported by Technologieland Hessen.
