The beginning of R.A.M. GmbH
Under CEO Helmut Flohr, R.A.M. GmbH is founded to advance industrial quality optimisation. The company quickly becomes known for precise, reliable solutions, setting new benchmarks for quality and efficiency.
First inspection-system installation
The durability of our products is shown by our first inspection system, installed in 1990 — still in operation today. It proves our technological strength and builds trust with our clients.
R.A.M. Kunststofftechnik GmbH
R.A.M. Kunststofftechnik GmbH is created as a subsidiary for consulting and sales. While R.A.M. GmbH handles development and manufacturing, it offers complete solutions for optical inspection, thickness measurement and recycling analysis.

Our proximity to Frankfurt Airport — just 15 km away — enables faster, more efficient global deliveries thanks to excellent transport links.
Over 300 inspection systems worldwide
Our systems ensure the quality of a wide range of materials worldwide. The “CAMEN” software integrates with existing machines, and our modular web-inspection systems scale with your needs.
Introduction of plastPMS
plastPMS is a separate, optional production-monitoring system with real-time analysis and alarms — for higher quality and less waste. It runs on Windows 10 or Debian 10 and offers customisable reporting.

Celebrating our achievements in 2024
At the close of the year, our team looked back on the people, the partnerships and the progress that define our work. 2024 was a year of remarkable development – with the launch of the AI project KISS, the partnership with IMPLASTIC in Brazil and the PRSE in Amsterdam and FIP in Lyon trade fairs.
CoaXPress 2.0 and GigE Vision
Our optical systems rely on the two leading standards in industrial machine vision: CoaXPress 2.0 for very fast real-time inspection and GigE Vision for flexible, wide-area multi-camera networks – both integrated uniformly via GenICam.
- CoaXPress 2.0: up to 12.5 Gbit/s per cable, over 50 Gbit/s bundled
- GigE Vision: 1–10 Gbit/s, cable lengths up to 100 m

Quality sorting with the PQMex®
The PQMex® measures every batch of regranulate while the buffer is being filled, stores quality and quantity and automatically assigns the material a quality grade – premium (A), standard (B) or mixed to customised quality (C). Even waste is put to use through rework or mixing.
